Alan Goldfarb, a veteran wine journalist, began his career as a sportswriter for Newsday in New York, the San Francisco Examiner, and the Associated Press.
Alan has been writing about wine for decades now. He’s been the wine editor at the St. Helena Star, and his work has also appeared in the San Jose Mercury News, Wine Enthusiast, American Airlines’ American Way, and the Underground Wine Journal.

Alan Goldfarb has been a wine journalist for more than 25 years. He was the wine editor at the St. Helena Star where covering wine in Napa Valley was akin to covering Catholicism at the Vatican. He was the senior editor of AppellationAmerica.com; and his work has appeared in the Wine Enthusiast, Decanter and the San Jose Mercury News. He also has a winery media relations consultancy.
